Day 1 KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer from international airport not included). All travel documents will be delivered to the first hotel in Reykjavik.
Day 2 GULLFOSS - ÞINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK (B) Today's highlights are many including Þingvellir National Park a place of great geological and historical interest, the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot-spring area. Drive onwards along the mighty Þjórsá river into Þjórsárdalur valley with Mt. Hekla, Iceland's most famous volcano towering above. From there head to the South Shore.

Day 3 SOUTH SHORE (B) Visit Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Onwards to Dyrhólaey a rocky headland where thousands of puffins nest in summer. Across the vast lava field of Eldhraun to the picturesque village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent.
*Please note that Dyrhólaey is closed during nesting season in spring, mid May to June 23rd

Day 4 SKAFTAFELL - GLACIAL LAGOON (B) Skaftafell National Park, a green oasis nestling below the great Vatnajökull glacier, offers different hiking possibilities. Continue to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon where huge icebergs, float and grind together in the still, deep waters of the lagoon. Drive along the rugged and varied coastline of Austfirðir, Iceland´s magnificent East Fjords to Egilsstaðir the largest town in the east.

Day 5 EGILSTADIR (B) Explore Egilsstaðir and surroundings. Visit Hallormsstaður the largest forest plantation in Iceland set along the Lagarfljót lake, which according to legend contains a monster.

Day 6 LANGANES PENINSULA (B) Drive to Vopnafjörður village, with its spectacular coast and natural hot springs, continue to Þórshöfn a village with 500 inhabitants which is situated on the Langanes peninsula.
Optional: Burstafell Museum and old farmstead. Also possible to continue to Mývatn area or Húsavík to overnight
Day 7 HUSAVIK (B) Across the Öxafjarðarheiði plateau. Visit Ásbyrgi, a magnificent horseshoe-shaped canyon in Jökul-sárgljúfur National Park. Drive along the Tjörnes peninsula to the fishing port of Húsavík, continue to Akureyri the capital of the north.

Day 8 LAKE MÝVATN - AKUREYRI (B) Explore the natural wonders of Lake Mývatn area including the fantastic lava formations of Dimmuborgir, the volcanic area of Krafla, and the pseudo-craters of Skútustaðir. Visit Goðafoss waterfall on the way to Akureyri.
Day 9 SKAGAFJÖRDUR (B) From Akureyri continue over Öxnardalur pass to the historical region of Skagafjörður renowned for horse breeding. There is the option of visiting the old farmstead of Glaumbær a great example of old Icelandic architecture. Continue the drive to the peninsula of Snæfellsnes.

Day 10 SNAEFELLSJOKULL - BORGARFJÖRDUR (B) Circle around the legendary Snæfellsjökull glacier, passing the small fishing villages such as Hellissandur, Grundarfjörður and the magnificent columnar basalt rock formations at Arnarstapi. Make a stop at the rocky beach of Djúlalónssandur. Pass the magnificent Eldborg crater onwards to the agricultural region of Borgarfjörður before returning to Reykjavík.
Day 11 REYKJAVIK - DEPARTURE (B) The morning free for own activities and sightseeing before your afternoon transfer on your own by Flybus to the Keflavik airport.
