What is an Expedition Cruise?

Five Stars of Scandinavia's exclusive expedition cruises embark to isolated areas in Antarctica and the Arctic Ocean. We venture to otherwise unreachable locations and explore isolated wilderness. We supply you with all the supplies necessary to engage in close relations with arctic wildlife, dramatic fjords, and endless tundra after an unforgettable voyage on icy waters.

Explorer Ships

With the accommodations of a cruise ship, our Explorer Ships provide comfort and entertainment for all passengers. In addition, equipment to venture off the ship is included.

Sailing Ships

Our Sailing Ship, the Noorderlicht, was originally built in 1910. In 1991 it was re-rigged and refitted, and now has a well-balanced two-masted schooner rig capable of sailing the seven seas. Providing accommodation for 20 travelers, the Noorderlicht has a crew of three expert Dutch sailors, a cook, and an expedition leader.
