Day 1 ARRIVAL REYKJAVIK Once you have landed at Keflavik Airport in Iceland, please pick up your luggage and head through customs. Transfer on own to Reykjavik and check-in at your hotel in Reykjavik city. The day is yours to rest and use at your own leisure. Overnight at the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Natura
Day 2 WONDERS OF NORTH ICELAND - AKUREYRI (B) Flight to Akureyri - Day of leisure - Shops, restaurants, museums
In the morning get yourself ready for a flight to Akureyri, the capital of the North. From there, a self-transfer to your hotel. The town which is located just a few kilometers from the Arctic Circle, is a colourful walking city with a wide range of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums. You will stay at the Icelandair Hotel Akureyri, situated in the center of the friendly and lively town of Akureyri, for two nights.
Day 3 LAKE MYVATN SIGHTSEEING (B) Guided coach tour - Godafoss waterfall - Lake Myvatns surroundings
Start today with a fully guided tour, to visit all the highlights that Lake Myvatn has to offer. First visit Godafoss waterfall on the way to Lake Myvatn. Continue to the pseudo-craters of Skutustadagigar and from there to the mystic Dimmuborgir (Dark Castles) abounding with pillars of lava and strange formations. A stop at the warm underground river in Grjotagja rift and a visit to the geothermal area of Hverir with boiling mud pools, steaming fumaroles and sulphur pits. Krafla volcano area is your next destination where you'll drive past the power station bearing the same name that relies on geothermal steam energy for its operation.
Explore the explosion crater Viti that was formed in 1724 in the Myvatnseldar eruption and enjoy the view over Leirhnjukur volcano. End the tour at the lovely, Myvatn Nature Baths, a relaxing visit to the completely natural swimming pool of geothermal water situated in the middle of lava fields with a great view over Lake Myvatn. Return to Akureyri in the afternoon. Overnight stay at the Icelandair Hotel Akureyri.
Day 4 MORNING AT LEISURE - FLIGHT TO REYKJAVIK (B) If your flight leaves in the afternoon/evening you might want to book some optional tours or activities. Flight from Akureyri to Reykjavik and then a self-transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik city.

Northern Iceland is a land of winter adventures, offering diverse options for those who want to combine relaxation with fun and excitement in a veritable paradise of nature. The ski slopes in Hidarfjall by Akureyri are among the best in the country, featuring gradients and lifts which suit both children and grown-ups together with excellent facilities for cross-country skiing.
A scheduled coach goes regularly from downtown Akureyri to the mountain. Approx. 10 minutes drive. All skiing gear and equipment can be rented.
Skiing is also possible in the villages of Dalvik, Olafsfjördur and Siglufjördur, approx. 30 min - 1 hrs drive from Akureyri.
Day 5 DEPARTURE REYKJAVIK (B) Please be ready to leave your hotel approx. 3 hours before the departure of your flight (transfer to airport is not included in the tour price).
