On to the fishing port of Húsavík and along the East Fjords to Dettifoss, Europe's mightiest waterfall. Day 1 KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer from international airport not included). All travel documents will be delivered to the first hotel in Reykjavik.
Day 2 GULLFOSS - ÞINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK (B) Drive across Hellisheiði to the greenhouse village of Hveragerði. Continue to the waterfall Gullfoss and the hot springs at Geyser. Visit Thingvellir, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament, and then through Hvalfjörður fjord or Kaldidalur highland pass (4WD needed) to Borgarfjörður.
Day 3 AKUREYRI (B) Drive north through Borgarfjörður, to the shores of Húnaflói bay and the towering mountains and horse-breeding valleys of Skagafjörður. Onwards to the town of Akureyri, Iceland's second largest urban area in the North.

Day 4 AKUREYRI - LAKE MÝVATN (B) Spend the morning in Akureyri, the capital of the North. After exploring the town, continue on to the Lake Mývatn area.
Day 5 LAKE MÝVATN - KRAFLA (B) Explore the natural wonders of Lake Mývatn and the surrounding area, including fantastic lava formations. Visit of the volcanic area of Krafla along with the colorful sulfurous slopes of Námaskarð pass.
Day 6 HUSAVIK - EGILSSTAÐIR (B) Drive north to the fishing port of Húsavík and around Tjörnes Peninsula. Visit Ásbyrgi, a magnificent horseshoe-shaped canyon and Jökulsárgljúfur National Park. Proceed to Dettifoss, Europe's mightiest waterfall, before heading across the highland plateau to Egilsstaðir.

Day 7 EAST FJORDS - HÖFN (B) Drive south through the spectacular East Fjords, where towering, terraced mountains plunge vertically into the ocean and on to the town of Höfn in Hornafjörður, a gateway to the south coast.

Day 8 SKAFTAFELL NATIONAL PARK (B) Drive to the shimmering icebergs and still, milky waters of Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon before continuing to Skaftafell National Park where a hike can be recommended. On to the picturesque village of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

Day 9 SOUTH COAST - REYKJAVIK (B) Drive along the spectacular south coast, a sweeping landscape of sandy deserts, rocky shores and rolling farmland sandwiched between snow-capped glaciers, mountains and the ocean. Return to Reykjavík.
Day 10 REYKJAVIK - DEPARTURE (B) The morning free for own activities and sightseeing before your afternoon transfer on your own by Flybus to the Keflavik airport.
