We drive to Kjoastadir Farm in the morning and visit the historical site Thingvellir on our way. We also make a stop at the Geysir hot spring area before we arrive at Kjoastadir Farm. After having met our hosts we check into our rooms and enjoy lunch.

Our guide will introduce the Icelandic horse and its special gaits before we start our ride along pleasant trails of the beautiful birch forest at Haukadalur valley. We cross small sparkling brooks and enjoy the vegetation blooming during the summer on our way towards Geysir hot spring area. A perfect first riding day where we get to know the Icelandic horse and the way of riding in a relaxed atmosphere. While on our ride we enjoy the great view of mountain ranges, valleys and the glacier. (15 km/9 mi)

Today we explore the friendly countryside of Blaskogabyggd when we ride towards Kjarnholt Farm and enjoy great riding paths alongside the river Tungufljot. We will cross the river at a beautiful place and ride into an area protected because of the rich birdlife.

On our way back to the farm we enjoy smooth riding paths and a great view over the Geysir area and Langjökull Glacier. The highlight of today is at the bank of river Tungufljot where we have the possibility to test the amazing swimming ability of the Icelandic horse. It is up to you if want to wade, swim or just take photos! (15 km/9 mi)

Optional (available at an extra charge) Secret Lagoon natural hot springs are located in the small village called Fludir which is close to Kjoastadir farm. The lagoon is kept natural and unique so guests can get the true Icelandic feeling. The pools natural surroundings and steam rising into the air gives the place a magical feeling. The warm water holds 38-40 Celsius all year. In the whole area there are several geothermal spots and a little Geysir which erupts every 5 minutes, showing off for the guests relaxing in the hot spring.

We leave the farm and head off towards the majestic canyon Bruarhlöd where milky, glacier fed water passes through bizarre rock formations. We follow the ever deepening canyon to the impressive Golden Waterfall Gullfoss. After having spent some time there we saddle up again and follow the famous Kjölur highland trail for a while before we head back to the farm.

After coffee and refreshments it is time to bid farewell to horses and guides and we drive back to Reykjavik. Approx. arrival time in Reykjavik is 19:00. (20 km/12 mi)
