Day 1ARRIVAL REYKJAVIK Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer from international airport not included).

Day 2 SOUTH COAST - SKOGARFOSS (B) Thundering Waterfalls - Cliffs & Stone Arches - Black Sand Beaches of the South Shore - Puffin Colony
Visit the highlights of the South Coast such as Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls, the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier and surrounding area (where the eruption in 2010 took place) and Dyrholaey*, a rocky headland where thousands of sea birds and puffins nest during the summer.

*Please note that Dyrholaey is closed during nesting season in spring, Mid May until June 23.

Day 3 THORJORSARDALUR - STONG VIKING FARMSTEAD (B) Colorful Valley - Hekla Volcano - The Famous Golden Falls - Exploding Geysers
Explore Pjorsardalur valley and its landscape of sharply contrasting birch woods, sandy lava fields, rivers and waterfalls, huddling below the impressive volcano Hekla. Continue to Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot spring area.

Day 4 THINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK - BLUE LAGOON (B) National Park with Geological Wonders (UNESCO) - Picturesque Fjords - Waterfalls
Visit Thingvellir National Park, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament and a jewel of nature. Then via Hvalfjördur fjord or Kaldidalur highland track (4WD needed). Your journey continues to the beautiful Borgarfjördur region and Reykholt, home of the 13th century scholar Snorri Sturluson. Return to Reykjavik in the afternoon.
