Please Note Pick up of rental car on day 2.
Drop off at Keflavík airport or in Reykjavík on departure day before 09:00. If the car is delivered outside this time range, an extra day will be charged. Due to road conditions routes may be altered without prior notice.
The highland tracks of Iceland are not expected to be open until the middle of June. A final list of accommodations will be sent with your documents. Hotels are selected at the discretion of the local tour operator.

DAY 1 KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK Arrival at Keflavík airport and pick up of travel documents. Transfer with Flybus to accommodation in Reykjavík.

DAY 2 THINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK - GULLFOSS (B) From Reykjavik to Þingvellir National Park, site of the ancient Icelandic parliament. The park offers a stunning volcanic landscape of mountains and lava flows. Visit the geothermal area of the Geysir and the glacier waterfall of Gullfoss.

DAY 3 KJÖLUR - SKAGAFJÖRDUR (B) The route leads over the highland track Kjölur (4WD needed, track open from mid-June), passing the colorful thermal area Hveravellir between the glaciers Langjökull and Hofsjökull. Arrive in the horse-breeding valleys of Skagafjördur fjord.

DAY 4 AKUREYRI - LAKE MÝVATN - GOÐAFOSS (B) Drive to Akureyri, the second largest town in Iceland outside the capital area. Onwards to the Mývatn area, first stop being the Goðafoss waterfall. The natural wonders of Lake Mývatn area include fantastic lava formations of Dimmuborgir, the volcanic area of Krafla, and the pseudo craters of Skútustaðir.

DAY 5 TJÖRNES - HUSAVIK - EGILSSTAÐIR (B) From Mývatn head towards the Tjörnes peninsula. Through the fishing port of Husavik to Jökulsárgljúfur National Park, with the impressive horseshoe-shaped Ásbyrgi canyon and Dettifoss waterfall, the mightiest waterfall in Europe. Continue east to Egilsstaðir.

DAY 6 EAST FJORDS (B) Drive south through the spectacular coast line of the East Fjords with charming fishing village and towering mountains that plunge vertically into the sea. Stop at Almannaskarð pass which offers a striking view of Vatnajökull glacier and the coastal area.

DAY 7 GLACIAL LAGOON (B) The Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon by the Vatnajökull glacier offers a beautiful view of the glacier and the floating icebergs make a deep impression on the traveler. Onwards to Skaftafell National Park a green oasis with its many hiking possibilities. Continue along the south coast for an overnight stay.

DAY 8 VIK - SKÓGARFOSS - SELJALANDSFOSS (B) Continue westwards to Kirkjubæjarklaustur, a former site of a 12th century Catholic convent, across the vast Eldhraun lava fields to the black sands of Vik. Drive across the fertile agricultural area of the south stopping by the beautiful waterfalls Skógarfoss and Seljalandsfoss before continuing to Reykjavik.

Day 9 REYKJAVIK (B) Morning free for own activities and sightseeing before afternoon Fly Bus transfer to Keflavik airport.
