Day 1 ARRIVAL KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK (D) Monday
Transfer from Keflavik Airport to a hotel in the Capital area. We invite you to a Welcome Meeting including traditional Icelandic lamb stew. Receive details of your tour and get to know your fellow riders.

Day 2 GEYSIR - GULLFOSS - EINHIRNINGUR (B, L, D) Tuesday
We visit the well-known sights of Iceland, Geysir hot spring area and Gullfoss waterfall on our way to Eyvindarmuli Farm, where we meet staff and horses. Our ride leads us into the mountains, to the Einhyrningur cabin, named after a striking mountain reaching high above the area. Here we spend the night. On our way we can see glacier Eyjafjallajökull and Thorsmörk Nature Park. (25 km)

Day 3 EINHIRNINGUR - EMSTRUR - HVANNGIL (B, L, D) Wednesday
Today we cross two rivers, Markarfljot and Kaladlofskvisl, while riding towards the Emstrur area; an area of sensitive vegetation in the mountains. We continue to Hvanngil cabin were we spend this night. A warm shower is available there. During our ride we can see Myrdalsjökull glacier under which Katla volcano is hiding. (35 km)

Day 4 HVANNGIL - LANDMANNAHELLIR (B, L, D) Thursday
We continue our ride into the mountains, past Lake Alftavatn and prominent Laufafell Mountain, through a black lava desert, until we reach the cabin at Landmannahellir. Our ride leads us through fascination Reykjadalur valley with hot springs, small geysirs and colourful mountains. We end this riding day in Landmannahellir where we spend the next two nights. (40 km)

Day 5 LANDMANNAHELLIR - LANDMANNALAUGAR (B, L, D) Friday
Today we ride to the famous Landmannalaugar, with its natural hot pool, surrounded by colourful mountains and lava from 1480. Our horses rest in a paddock and we have a good part of the day to relax in the hot pools or visit the numerous sights, before returning to Landmannahellir. This day will be without a doubt, one of the highlights of this tour. (40 km)

Day 6 LANDMANNAHELLIR - RJUPNAVELLIR (B, L, D) Saturday
We leave the scenic Landmannahellir area and ride north of Mt. Hekla volcano down from the mountains. A desert of black ash and light pumice is a witness to numerous eruptions of this volcano, the most active one in Iceland. Rjupnavellir summer cottages are our first step back to civilisation and we spend a night underneath the volcano. Warm showers are available there. (35 km)

Day 7 RJUPNAVELLIR - FOSS - GODLAND - REYKJAVIK (B, L, D) Sunday
This is our last riding day and the longest one as well. South of Mt. Hekla volcano we ride through fertile farmland and cross the rivers Ytri-Ranga and Eystri-Ranga. For parts of the day we follow the well-known Hekla Trail and ride on good riding tracks where it is easy to enjoy the tölt. Our ride leads past hills at Tumastadaskogur, an area where extensive reforestation efforts have taken place. We end our ride in the scenic Fljotshlid area. At Godaland Guesthouse refreshments are waiting, before we drive back to Reykjavik (expected time of return is 20:00) and spend a night in the Capital area. (50 km)

Day 8 DEPARTURE REYKJAVIK (B) Monday
After breakfast transfer by bus to Keflavik Airport in time for the return flight home.
