Northern Lights Special

5 days / 4 nights, Reykjavik - Akureyri - Lake Mývatn - Godafoss Waterfall - Reykjavik | The Aurora Borealis are mesmerizing, dynamic displays of light that appear in the nighttime Arctic skies. Aurora borealis - the northern aurora, forms in an oval centered on the north magnetic pole in the Arctic. Few sights can equal the magic and mystery of these luminous sheets of color playing in the frigid air of an Arctic night. Our semi escorted Northern Lights program takes you on a search of the magic and colorful auroral display of lights and colors. Witness the splendor and magnificence of the natural phenomenon that occur around Earth's north and south geomagnetic poles, known in the northern regions as the Northern Lights. The best time to see them in Iceland is during mid November through March. Few areas better than Lake Mývatn for viewing the Northern Lights and discovering the wonders of the Icelandic winter.

This program is an alternative to a stay in Reykjavik with daily excursions. The itinerary offers a tour of South West Iceland including the main attractions. Overnight stay in the countryside affords unique opportunities to experience the northern lights as well as bathing in the famous spas.
