We then go for a 2 hour tour around Reykjanes peninsula, since rooms are not ready for check in. After the tour the guide will head back to Reykjavík and the group checks in to their rooms and take a nap before going to the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is proud to have received an award as the best destination in the mineral spa category from the Spa Finder magazine! After lunch visit to the Blue Lagoon and take your first dip into the healing waters of the lagoon. Enjoy the powerful waterfall, take a sauna in one of the caves or simply enjoy your swim. After a relaxing afternoon in the lagoon, head back to Northern Light Inn hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 2 KRISUVIK - MT. HEKLA (B, L, D) We depart for the geothermal area in Seltun. The cliffs and harsh mountains alongside this coastal road have many interesting geological features. The gravel road is unforgiving, but the scenic beauty of the area is worth the trouble. The smell of sulphure emanating from some of the nastier mud pits are clear indication for people not to come to close. From the boiling mud pots we head to Stokkseyri for lunch at the Seashore Restaurant in the village of Stokkseyri for a warm lobster soup. We then continue to our destination near Volcano Mt. Hekla. The rural surroundings of the hotel provide ideal conditions, on a clear night, to observe the Northern Lights, from the Viking Pool at the hotel. The pool is built from stone and lava walls form a charming enclosure around the pool. There is a changing area for both sexes built from stone next to the pool. By the Hotel is also the Hekla Centre. The Hekla Center houses a contemporary, multimedia exhibition on Mount Hekla, its history, and its influence on human life in Iceland from the time of the island's settlement until now. Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 3 THINGVELLIR - GEYSIR - GULLFOSS (B, D) Today we drive through the farmlands to Gullfoss "the Golden waterfall" one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe. Only a few minutes drive from Gullfoss is the famous Great Geysir which has given name to hot spring all over the world. You will see one of the most active geysers in the area, Strokkur, spouting up to 30 meters. Onwards to Þingvellir, a remarkable geological site and the most historic site on the island. Þingvellir is the site of the world's oldest democratic parliament founded in 930. Þingvellir, located by Lake Þingvallavatn, the largest lake on the island, is now a national park. The beautiful canyon running through the park is actually the meeting point of two of the earths tectonic plates, and Thingvellir's combination of natural phenomena and historical significance make it inseparable from the fabric of Icelandic national life.
