Day 1 ARRIVAL REYKJAVIK
If arriving early you may opt for a 1/2 day or evening excursion. We urge you to study our tour selection and book ahead. Check in to your Reykjavik hotel and get situated for your next 3-night stay in Iceland.
Day 2 AFTERNOON REYKJAVIK GRAND EXCURSION - EVENING BLUE LAGOON (B)
Reykjavik Grand Excursion is a comprehensive introduction to the northernmost capital city in the world. We visit the city's main sites on foot and by bus.
Explore famous landmarks such as The Pearl, Hallgrímskirkja church, the harbor and the trendy 101 Reykjavik area. Reykjavik's close proximity to nature, with the Elliðaá salmon river running through it, a thermal beach at Nauthólsvík, green valleys and outdoor swimming pools, make for a truly vibrant city.
The afternoon is open to your inspiration. We suggest visiting one of the many museums or art galleries that are scattered around the city such as the National Museum, Reykjavik Art Museum and the Settlement Exhibition, just to name a few.
Evening Blue Lagoon Tour (18:00)
Enjoy a relaxing dip in the warm waters of the famous Blue Lagoon. The lagoon is a unique wonder of nature with pleasantly warm mineral-rich geothermal water in the middle of a black lava field. The high natural levels of silica and minerals give the Lagoon its rich blue color. Facilities include modern changing rooms, showers, an indoor/outdoor geothermal pool, winter garden, restaurants & shopping. A visit to the Blue Lagoon is both invigorating and exciting whether bathing in the unique surroundings or indulging in spa therapy treatment in the luxurious & modern facilities.
Day 3 GOLDEN CIRCLE TOUR (B)
Of all the spectacular nature in Iceland there are 3 amazing sites that are easily experienced in 1 day along the Golden Circle. Depart from Reykjavik and drive to Þingvellir National Park (UNESCO) which is a great historical site and a jewel of nature. It is the original home of the world’s oldest existing parliament, Althingi, which was established in the 10th century as well as the visible site of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge where the N. American & European tectonic plates meet.
A short ride across fertile farmlands reveals the breathtaking Gullfoss “Golden” Waterfalls. Lucky travelers who visit on a sunlit day are treated with a dazzling kaleidoscope of rainbows that surround the entire area in a spectacle of color & motion.
Geysir geothermal area is teeming with hot springs, exploding geysers & bubbling pools of mud. Geysir is Iceland’s largest geyser and lends its name to all others. Although Geysir is less active these days, Strokkur spouts water up to 100 feet every few minutes. Return to Reykjavík at 18:00. Evening at leisure.
Day 4 DEPARTURE (B)
If your flight is in the afternoon, use those valuable last moments to walk along the harbor on the seafront and breathe in the fresh Atlantic breeze or if you still need to relax your stressed muscles, visit one of the cities swimming-pools. There you can chat with the locals as well as relax in the geothermal mist.
