Pick up of rental car on day 2.
Drop off at Keflavík airport or in Reykjavík on departure day before 09:00. If the car is delivered outside this time range, an extra day will be charged. Due to road conditions routes may be altered without prior notice.

The highland tracks of Iceland are not expected to be open until the middle of June.

A final list of accommodations will be sent with your documents. Hotels are selected at the discretion of the local tour operator.

Day 1 KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer from international airport not included). All travel documents will be delivered to the first hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 2 HVALFJÖRÐUR - SNÆFELLSJÖKULL
GLACIER (B)
After early morning breakfast pick up of your rental car at Hertz. Your journey begins toward the west, via Hvalfjörður, beautiful Whale Bay with Glymur, highest waterfall of the country, to the agricultural region of Borgarfjörður. Passing the magnificent Eldborg crater, formed in an eruption 5000 years ago, to Snæfellsnes peninsula, where the mysterious Snæfellsjökull Glacier, active volcano, towers over its surroundings.

Day 3 SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA (B) Explore the countless natural wonders of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Visit Arnarstapi sea cliffs, home of myriads of birds, kittiwakes, fulmars, razorbills and an arctic tern colony directly in the fishing hamlet. Enjoy the varied birdlife and the rocky beach of Djúpalónssandur. Continue driving along the north coast through bustling and colorful fishing villages.

Day 4 REYKHOLT - HRAUNFOSSAR - ÞINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK (B) Visit the historic site of Reykholt, home of Iceland's greatest medieval writer, poet, scholar and statesman, Snorri Sturluson (1179-1241). Hraunfossar waterfall, an unusual natural phenomena. The Hraunfossar Falls are clear, cold springs that well up through the lava and run in falls and rapids into the Hvítá River and Deildartunguhver, largest thermal spring in Iceland. Drive onwards to Þingvellir National Park, site of the ancient Icelandic Parliament (4WD needed for Kaldidalur valley). Continue to the famous Geysir hot-spring area and the powerful Gullfoss waterfall, spanned by a rainbow in the sunshine.

Day 5 SOUTH SHORE - SKOGAFOSS - MÝRDALSJÖKULL GLACIER (B) Discover the south shore, viewing the spectacular Skóga­foss waterfall. Perhaps visit Skogar Folk Museum before continuing to the Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, the fourth largest glacier in Iceland. Continue to the beautiful village Vík black beaches around Vík , surrounded by impressive, high bird cliffs an the unique black sands. Visit Dyrhólaey* headland where thousands of puffins nest every summer. Return to Reykjavík.

*Please note that Dyrhólaey is closed during nesting season in spring, middle May until June 23rd.

Day 6 REYKJANES PENINSULA - BLUE LAGOON (B) Drive to Reykjanes peninsula and visit the moon like surroundings of Lake Kleifarvatn and Krísuvík geothermal area with its bubbling mud pools. Visit Grindavík fishing village and the famous Blue Lagoon for a relaxing bath. Optional: Bathing in the Blue Lagoon, massage in the waters of the Blue Lagoon (Towels provided).

Day 7 DEPARTURE (B) The morning free for own activities and sightseeing before transfer on your own by Flybus to the Keflavik airport.
