Day 1 OSLO Monday
Arrival in Oslo, own transfer arrangements to your hotel for check-in. Please consult the reception for your Borealis Destination Management welcome letter & information bulletin at your hotel.
Day 2 OSLO - LOFTHUS (B, D) Tuesday
Breakfast at your hotel. This morning meet & greet with tour escort. Board your motorcoach and head into the fjord country. We drive across Hønefoss, Nesbyen, surrounded by a landscape which alternates with forests of pines and lakes, we arrive in the beautiful Hallingdal Valley. Just a few kilometres away, we will visit Gol followed by Geilo, a small town surrounded by mountains and famous for its Ski resorts. We will drive to the impressive Hardanger fjord, where we arrive at Lofthus, one of Edvard Grieg's favourite haunts, and one of the most beautiful points of the fjord. Dinner at your hotel. Overnight in fjord view room.
Day 3 LOFTHUS - BERGEN (B) Wednesday
Breakfast at your hotel. A short drive to Kinsarvik, to embark a ferry that will carry us to a crossing along the idyllic Hardanger fjord, the widest fjord in Norway. Disembark in Kvandal and continue by coach, bordering the fjord, passing by Nordheimsund and crossing forests of birches until we arrive in Bergen. Bergen is the capital of the fjords, Norway's second largest city and one of the three university cities in the country. Early in the afternoon, meet the English-speaking local guide in your hotel for a 2-hour city sightseeing tour. Visit St. Marys Church, Haakon's Hall (no entrances), the colourful and picturesque fish markets and the old Bryggen area. Evening is at leisure.

Day 4 BERGEN - BALESTRAND (B, D) Thursday
Breakfast at your hotel. Early morning departure from Bergen for the historic town of Voss. Here we board a train across the mountain plateau to Myrdal, where we change to the World famous Flam railway, the highlight of the day. Experience one of the most spectacular rail journeys, descending down from Myrdal to the quaint fjord village of Flam. Enjoy some free time before embarking the afternoon ferry, crossing the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. Disembarkation in Balestrand and arrival at the historic Kvikne's Hotel, nestled on the edge of the stunning fjord. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 5 BALESTRAND - BRIKSDAL GLACIER - GEIRANGER (B, D) Friday
Breakfast at your hotel. Depart by coach to Dragsvik, from where we will cross the beautiful Sognefjord once again, before disembarking in Hella. We continue driving via Sogndal, through several picturesque villages, forests of birches and crops, until we arrive in Skei, located at the foot of Europe's biggest mainland glacier named "Jostedalsbreen". After a short break we continue our journey towards the Briksdal Glacier. Travel by small motorized Troll cars to the very edge of the glacier and experience the breathtaking blue ice. Continue by coach, driving via Loen and Stryn and onto Geiranger, to our hotel, the stunning 4 generation run Hotel Union. We spend two nights in the wonderful surroundings of mountains and fjords. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6 GEIRANGER (B, L, D) Saturday
Breakfast at your hotel. This morning we will take the ferry, crossing the dramatic Geiranger Fjord, on the UNESCO's World Heritage List. Travel from Geiranger to Hellasylt and be inspired by this beautiful unspoiled landscape. After disembarkation in Hellasylt, we travel up to the Dalsnibba viewpoint of Geiranger (Weather permitting). This is probably the most fantastic view in the world, at 1,500 metres above sea level. En-route lunch is included on today's scenic drive.
Day 7 GEIRANGER - OSLO (B) Sunday
Breakfast at your hotel. Early morning departure by coach to the capital Oslo. We travel via Lom, where we can admire the oldest wooden church in Norway, which dates from the 12th Century. We will continue, via Otta, leaving the fjords area of Central Norway, which is characterized by mountains and lakes and which is the major attraction in the country. Late in the afternoon we will arrive in Oslo and check-in to our hotel.
Day 8 OSLO (B) Monday
Breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, meet your local English-speaking guide for a 3-hour city sightseeing tour in the Norwegian capital, beautifully situated by a fjord. Enjoy the view from the Opera house situated right on the Oslo fjord where you will spend some time on the outside terrace area before heading of to Bygdoy Island. Visit the one of the most popular museums, the Viking Ship Museum (entrance included), with its three Viking vessels. The Vigeland Sculpture Park, one of the major Scandinavian cultural treasures, will welcome us with the sculptures of Gustav Vigeland, who dedicated his life to his artistic works. We will also pass by the Royal Palace and the main street, Karl Johan as well. The tour ends at the hotel, from where you will be free to explore the Viking capital at your own pace.
Day 9 DEPARTURE OSLO (B) Tuesday
Tour concludes after breakfast at the hotel. Individual departure transfer (not included).
