Day 1 ÅLESUND (L, D) Saturday
We begin with trip orientation in Ålesund. After lunch we fit out our kayaks and head out to paddle the waterways of this beautiful Art Nouveau city. Our paddle today will include a comprehensive introduction to paddling a sea kayak.

Upon returning we get everything ready for the next days' departure; tonight get to know one another over a group dinner at one of Ålesund's authentic restaurants.

Day 2 ÅLESUND - VEMØYA (B, L, D) Sunday
Today we pack our sea kayaks for the week ahead prior to setting out from kayak more tomorrow in Ålesund. Our route takes us Northeast as our sea kayak glide down Ellingsøyfjord, passing many small island on our way towards Skodje.

Our destination for the day is Vemøya, a small island at the entrance to the canal at Solnør. Our camp site tonight is in a bay on the South-west corner of Vem Island.

Day 3 VEMØYA - YTSTE SKOTET (B, L, D) Monday
The tides dictate our departure from Vem Island this morning; as we want the currents to be in our favour as we paddle under the Skodje bridges and then through the Solnør canal. Once we are through the canal we stop to stretch our legs in Solnør Bay. This is our last stop before we enter the fjords. Paddling south we cross directly over Storfjord to Rønes, where we enjoy a lunch on the shores of Storfjord at this historic farm.

Paddling over Ramstad Bay we follow the southern coast of Storfjord to Ytste Skotet our paddling destination for the day. Upon landing at the trail head of Ytste Skotet we unload the gear that we will need for a night at the farm. The hike up to this historic farm takes about 25 min. After arriving at Ytste Skotet a refreshing dip in the creek feels wonderful after 2 days of paddling.

Day 4 YTSTE SKOTET - STRANDA (B, L, D) Tuesday
After a good breakfast at the farm we hike down to our waitings kayaks. Today's paddle is a short crossing over to the North side continues down the Souther shore of Storfjord to the village of Stranda.

We leave our kayak secured on the town pier and wander into town to the local hotel. We treat ourselves to a 3-course supper featuring local dishes and sooth our tired muscles with a swim and steam bath. Tonight we retire for a sound sleep indoors.

We arrive at our camp site early and spend this leisurely afternoon relaxing by the fjord or enjoying some fjord fishing. Supper around a campfire is the perfect finish to our first full day paddling the majestic Storfjord.

Day 5 STRANDA - ÅKERNES (B, L, D) Wednesday
Fully refreshed we push off early this morning, leaving Stranda we paddle along the steep mountain walls to where Storfjord splits into Norddalsfjord and Sunnylvsfjord. We round the headland and head down Sunnylvsfjord.

Our paddling destination is the historic farm at Åkernes. After landing at Åkernes the short hike up to the farm is a refreshing stretch of our legs after this long day's paddling down the fjords. The view is fantastic from this historic farm; and as the evening sun dips below the rugged mountains, we dine on another glorious fjord meal.

Day 6 ÅKERNES - GEIRANGER (B) Thursday
Today's paddle will take us further down Sunnylvsfjord to the mouth of Geiranger fjord. Rounding the point at Matvik we enter Geirangerfjord from here we paddle past the world famous waterfalls; the Brides Veil, Suitor and Seven Sisters stopping for a lunch break under the Seven Sisters. Get your cameras ready as the world's most photographed fjord presents many a postcard backdrop.

After lunch we launch for the short paddle to Geiranger where the hamlet of Geiranger is located at the very end of this marvellous fjord with its thundering waterfalls and abandoned farms dotting the mountain walls. This is where our journey through the Majestic Fjords of the Sunnmøre Alps ends.

Upon arrival in Geiranger we walk the waterfall path to the Union Hotel After checking in, there is time to enjoy the spa before a delicious buffet dinner.

Day 7 GEIRANGER (B, L, D) Friday
After a relaxing morning there is time to explore Geiranger and its surroundings before lunch.

We return to Ålesund with kayak more tomorrows van; share laughs and memories over our final supper together.
