Day 1 EMBARKATION USHUAIA / ARGENTINA Friday, December 10th
Embark in Ushuaia.
Day 2 & 3 AT SEA Saturday – Sunday, December 11th & 12th
The ship heads across the Drake Passage crossing the Antarctic Convergence. While at sea, take time onboard to learn about Antarctica, the wildlife and the Antarctic Treaty.
Day 4 - 6 ANTARCTIC PENINSULA Monday – Wednesday, December 13th – 15th
For three days, explore the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula with continental and island landings as well as Zodiac cruising. During this time in this untouched wilderness expect to see Gentoo, Adélie and Chinstrap penguins, possibly Fur, Weddell, Crabeater and Leopard seals, as well as Minke, Humpback and other whale species. Visits are planned to sites such as Petermann Island, Port Lockroy, Paradise Bay, Pleneau Island, Neumeyer Channel, Lemaire Channel and Neko Harbour.
Day 7 SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS Thursday, December 16th
Landings are planned at Deception Island and Half Moon Island. Here rookeries are inhabited by Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins. The landscape is volcanic, its appearance a dramatic combination of steaming black lava sands and vast expanses of permanent ice.
Day 8 & 9 AT SEA Friday – Saturday, December 17th & 18th
Heading back to Ushuaia, take time while at sea to review recent experiences and learn more during informative lectures.
Day 10 DISEMBARKATION USHUAIA / ARGENTINA Sunday, December 19
Disembark in Ushuaia.
