Day 2 - 4 CAMPING - HIKING EKMANFJORDEN (B, L, D) Saturday - Monday
Camping and hiking in the Ekmanfjorden area. The area offers the possibility of hiking on the glacier, as well as a wide range of interesting trekking routes, both long and short. The campsite is surrounded by beautiful, scenic views, located next to the fjord, between the mountains and in front of the glaciers.

The basecamp will be used for the entire trekking expedition, meaning that the group returns here each day to prepare our meals and sleep. Packed lunch will be prepared each morning, and you will find a sheltered place to eat lunch while on the treks.

Pick up by Polarcirkel boats in the early afternoon, and transport back to Longyearbyen.

How demanding is the expedition?
This trip requires the participants to be physically fit, and we recommend that participants that are fairly well-trained hikers. You must be aware that the weather can change quickly, and that the hikes are over rocky and rugged terrain, where there are no paths or roads, making the adventure all the more exciting.

In the camp there is a mess tent (heated if necessary) where the group shares their meals. Sleeping tents are shared by two participants and there is also a tent for drying wet clothes. Participants will be asked to take a shift on polar bear watch during the night.
